The Forensic Science faculty at SHSU have a long-standing history of collaboration with other academic institutions, instrument and kit manufacturers, innovators, policy makers, and operational laboratories at the state, local and federal level. Academic-industrial partnerships contribute to the future success of the profession, and addresses the delicate balance of resources that exists within publicly-funded forensic science service providers.
Our research spans diverse fields of study including forensic biology, controlled substances, toxicology, trace evidence, questioned documents, forensic botany, medicolegal death investigation, forensic anthropology, disaster victim identification, forensic chemistry, pattern evidence, crime scene investigation, machine learning, informatics and more.
