Forensic Science Educator Training

This training is designed to provide instruction to middle school and high school educators on the use of forensic science. Lectures and laboratory exercises will provide core forensic science training and assist educators in incorporating these topics into the science curriculum. Conference faculty are experienced forensic scientists working within their respective disciplines.

Participants will experience workshop and hands-on laboratory-based instruction by forensic science faculty and scientists with real-world experience in a variety of forensic disciplines.

Cancellations made 30 days prior to the course start date will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made 29-15 days prior to the course start date will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made 14 days or less prior to the course start date will not receive a refund.

Forensic Science Educator Training

The Institute for Forensic Research, Training and Innovation at Sam Houston State University (SHSU) will present a Forensic Science Educator Training on the campus of SHSU in Huntsville, TX.

Program Goals

Participants in this training will:

  • Learn how the scientific method is applied to both the recovery of evidence from the scene of the crime and subsequent laboratory testing
  • Access scientific instrumentation currently used in crime laboratories
  • Have the opportunity to tour SHSU forensic science facilities and resources
  • Receive forensic science resources & materials for use in the classroom
