The Department of Forensic Science offers an inter-College collaboration which is administered by the College of Criminal Justice.
The department's full-time forensic science faculty members have real world experience and have worked as practicing forensic chemists, biologists, anthropologists, crime scene investigators, and toxicologists. These diverse backgrounds in the crime lab and medical examiner system ensure students receive the education necessary to apply their knowledge to actual casework and function within the criminal justice system.
In addition, the College of Criminal Justice provides legal, criminological, and statistical expertise that greatly enhances our program. Core science courses and advanced scientific study in the natural sciences are supported by dedicated faculty within the College of Science & Engineering Technology, who bring expertise in the areas of biochemistry, spectroscopy, entomology, microscopy and molecular biology, and genetics.
